Volunteering at Camp Matz
At Camp Matz we offer a volunteer experience like no other! Volunteers get to work with campers in a camp setting! There are several different ways you can volunteer:
Servant Event Program:
The servant event program at Camp Matz is associated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Under the guide of our camp counselors youth and adults from each congregation are assigned to work with one camper during activity and meal times. Volunteer's assistance ranges in degree depending on the ability a camper has. Campers and volunteers develop a friendship that will last a life time! The cost to serve in the servant event program is $100.00. Cost includes housing, meals and t-shirt for participating in the program. Learn more about Servant Events.
Adult Week:
This particular week is offered to all adults who would like to volunteer at Camp Matz. Generally, the adult week is during the month of August. Adults have a great opportunity to develop friendships and experiences assisting individuals with cognitive disabilities.
Individuals who volunteer:
Individuals can also volunteer at Camp Matz. Volunteers would participate in the Servant event program (see above) and work with the campers one to one during meal and activity times. If we have a volunteer who is 18 years and under we would ask an adult from another group attending to supervise this participant while at camp.
